Tree Removal

Tree Removal – NSW Tree Loppers

There are many reasons why residents of New South Wales (NSW) may need tree removal services. A tree may be damaged, diseased, dying, or infested. A tree may block construction or development. A tree may pose a threat to lives and properties. Whatever the reason is, the local council requires clearance or permits for every tree removal in Sydney and the rest of NSW. Its main goal is to preserve and protect the significance of trees.

Several significant trees are protected by the local environmental plan (LEP) and tree preservation orders (TEP) against tree removal in NSW. These include trees with aboriginal, botanical, and historical importance. Yet, in the end, if a tree poses a threat to lives and property, a tree removal company can remove a tree during emergencies, even without clearance or a permit.

Cost of Tree Removal in NSW

Many factors contribute to the tree removal costs in New South Wales. These include the condition of the tree, its location, obstacles to tree removal, and the species or size of the tree.

  • The average tree removal cost of a small tree, no more than 25 feet, is around $620.
  • The average tree removal cost of a medium tree, between 26 feet to 40 feet, is around $1,290.
  • The average tree removal cost of a large tree, between 40 feet to 50 feet, is around $2,150.
  • The average tree removal cost of an extra-large tree, more than 50 feet, is around $13,490.

Emergency tree removal will also cost more. It is because such a tree removal service can be done during the aftermath of a storm, in the wee hours of the night, and under risky conditions. Generally, the price of an emergency tree removal is two to three times the normal price of a regular tree removal service.

Tree Removal Methods in NSW

Tree removal in NSW can be done in several ways.

  • The bucket method uses a bucket truck or cherry picker to lift a tree worker and take out a tree from the upper section downwards.

  • The climbing method uses the same technique in the absence of a bucket truck or cherry picker. Instead, a tree worker manually ascends the top of the tree.

  • The digging method applies to small trees with shallow roots. Tree workers dig the soil around the tree to expose the roots. They then chop or cut the roots to detach them from the ground and make it easier to remove the tree.

  • The most common tree removal technique is felling. The felling team carefully plans escape routes and perimeter clearances to keep the tree removal safe. Using an axe or chainsaw, they will cut the tree trunk to let it fall in the desired direction.

  • If perimeter clearances do not allow a tree to fall safely, rigging is another tree removal option. Instead of letting the tree fall, ropes will keep the tree hanging on the ground. While rigged, the tree workers will chop the tree into small sections to take it out.

  • For extra-large trees, using a crane is the best and safest option. The crane will lift the tree out of the ground and move it into a safe zone.
